Today I decided to change up my method of exploring Jeju. Having a list of things to do each day kind of made it seem like more of a job to get through everything rather than an enjoyable vacation. Instead, I started the morning off by doing something I should've done my first day here: I returned the scooter. To avoid the stressful experience of driving on fast roads I tried to use as many back roads as possible to get to Seogwipo. It took about 45 minutes to drive there and it was a little better than the first time because it wasn't so cold and windy out. I dropped off the scooter and then used my map to search for things to do in the area. I found an art street called Jung Seop Art Street that was only a 20 minute walk away and decided to check it out. On the way there I came across a cute cafe called Grey Owl and stopped there for a snack and to face-time my dad. The decorations in Korean cafes still amaze me every time I go into one.

After sitting in the cafe for a bit I went back to looking for the art street. There were lots of cute little stores along the side of the street as well as a few cafes and a flower shop.
I went to the art gallery but decided I would rather be out in the nice weather so I just took pictures and then went back to the street to look at the stores. I bought a tiny stone grandpa pin to add to my collection for Jeju (it was handmade by an artist in Jeju).
After wandering the street I remembered Kyeongbin had recommended going to Olle Market since I had enjoyed Dongmun Market so much. It was super close to where I was and it took less than 5 minutes to walk to. There was lots of yummy looking food as well as tons of places where people could buy common side dish foods. There were lots of places where there were fish tanks outside full of living fish and you could pick what you wanted and then go inside to eat it. It smelled very fishy at some parts because people were chopping up and selling fresh fish. I bought some more stone grandpa breads but these were filled with orange! The lady was super nice and even gave me an extra one. I also found a cafe at one of the exits where BT21 characters were drawn on the sign. BT21 is a character line that BTS designed themselves. The characters on the sign are Tata (the heart thing) and Cookie (the bunny) and they were designed by Taehyung (V) and Jungkook, respectively.

Next I went to a waterfall that Danbi had recommended going to. It was fairly close to where I was and the walk there was very pretty since it is right by the harbour. The walk to the falls from the ticket booth was super short and easy!
After I took pictures and walked back out I stopped to get some food at a restaurant outside the ticket booth. I had bibimbap... again.

Then I walked back up the hill to get on a bus to go see another waterfall. This was one I had tried to go to on the first day I got to Jeju but it had been closed when I arrived. The first waterfall I went to was called Cheonjiyeon falls and this one was called Cheonjeyeon falls (very similar). I liked the second one better mainly because there was more hiking involved in seeing the falls. Plus there were three different ones!
There was also a pretty bridge that I had to take to get to my next destination, the K-Pop Play Museum.
I wasn't really sure what it was but it had k-pop in the name so I wanted to check it out. Ends up it's a virtual reality game area. People can pick concerts to attend and watch them through a vr headset. There were also different areas where visitors could take a picture with virtual idols. I wasn't really interested in doing any of that so I just walked around and looked at the merchandise store and then left.

On the way out I noticed a cafe called Twosome Place (which I had seen in Seoul as well) and stopped there for a snack. I got a really yummy cheesecake and watched BTS videos until I realized my bus was coming and I had to speed walk to the stop.

I spent the rest of the evening relaxing at my hostel.
Hope everyone is doing well,
Emily

Distance walked: 11.4 km
P.S. The convenience stores here are amazing and sell almost anything you could imagine... including alcohol (from vodka, to soju, to bottles of wine).

Also all the ads on my laptop and phone are completely Korean now. I even had a Jimin birthday ad pop up on my phone today. It's the only ad that I will watch all the way through without skipping.
