I have been pretty lazy and tired for the last two days. I'm going to combine day 4 and 5 in one post because I didn't do too much crazy stuff.
Day 4
After relaxing for most of the morning I finally convinced myself to move and head to Itaewon. Itaewon Street is a major attraction for tourists and it is full of shops, clubs, and restaurants. The main reason I wanted to go here was to visit the Line Friends store which carries BT21 merchandise. BT21 is a line of characters created by BTS. There is a character for each member of BTS (7) plus one that represents the fans. The Line Friends store was right by the Itaewon subway stop and it was so fun to explore! It has two floors dedicated to merchandise and then a top floor called the Line Friends cafe where people can get drinks and treats and see the original drawings that each BTS member made when designing their character.
Here are the drawings that the BTS members made when creating their characters:
After spending lots of time and money at the Line Friends store I went back out to Itaewon street to explore some of the shops. There were lots of artsy looking stores and cute restaurants. I ended up face-timing one of my roommates (at 4 am her time) and she kept me company for some of the time while I was walking. At one point (while I was face-timing Tegan) I got asked to do a brief interview about whether, as a foreigner, I would consider dating an asian guy... haha. I walked from the start of Itaewon street to the end and explored a few side streets where I found a yummy juice place. I purchased an apple and lime mojito because it sounded interesting. It didn't disappoint!
Then I made it all the way home on the subway without having to use KakaoMap!

Day 5
I was very lazy on day 5. I read a lot and then I met another girl in my hostel. Her name is Tony and she's from Germany. She's a huge k-pop fan and likes to blast B.A.P when she is working at the front desk of the hostel. B.A.P and BigBang were two k-pop groups that I really enjoyed when I first started listening to Korean music so we were able to bond over that. She has also been in Korea for over a month and had lots of cool stories about places she has visited so far. We ended up going out together for dinner to a restaurant that was about a 10 minute walk away from the hostel.

Hope everyone is doing well,
Emily
