Day 71: Lazy Day

I stayed in bed for a very long time today. I was tempted to do nothing all day and just watch Netflix, but I had so many blog posts to catch up on that it eventually motivated me to move from bed. I figured I would get more work done if I went to a cafe so I picked a cafe doing a Jin birthday event that was nearby and walked there. The cafe was called Cafe Klar and the inside of it was very clean and pretty. Everything was white and pink and the decorations were perfect! I really love the cafes here.

I got a tea and cookie and sat down to work for a few hours.

I started to get bored around 6 pm so it seemed like a good time to take a walk outside and find a different cafe. Unfortunately, I had not looked up the weather for the day before I left my room this morning. I had worn a cropped hoodie and no coat. I realized what a big mistake that was when I walked outside and immediately started shivering. Walking from Hakdong to Samseong station was out of the question in this temperature so I walked to a bus stop around the corner and froze for several minutes until the next bus showed up. Note to self: look at the weather and dress appropriately in the future.

We passed a lamborghini dealership on the way to Samseong station and the cars looked so beautiful agh. I accidentally got off at the wrong bus stop, but at least it wasn't too far from the cafe I was looking for. I tried to walk to the station as quickly as I could, but slowed down a little after tripping over the flat ground (surprise surprise). The cafe was on the other side of the street and I didn't want to wait for the lights in the cold so I used the subway entrances. The station had a huge BTS ad as well as an ad for Jin's birthday.

I finally arrived at the cafe and there were absolutely no decorations. I quickly realized that I had gone to the wrong cafe, but I felt bad leaving without buying anything. I grabbed a small tea and then sat down to try and figure out where the correct cafe was. It had the exact same name, but it was across the street from the one I was at.

Back out into the cold I went. This cafe was called Chez Nous and it was attached to a clothing store. I ordered yet another tea and sat down to continue working on the blog. The cafe was playing BTS music for the birthday event and it was fun to be able to sit and listen to it in a public place. It's still so strange to hear k-pop music and other Korean music that I like playing in cafes, restaurants, and stores. Normally I only get to listen to that kind of music from my own phone.

After an hour or so I noticed 4 older men sitting at the table near the window. One of them kept getting up to take pictures of the Jin decorations and he even asked the barista at the till if they had more decorations somewhere. I'm not sure if he was a fan or if one of the other men with him was a parent of one of the BTS members. The cafe had given me two of the Jin cup sleeves when I ordered, but they had run out right after. The guy who was taking pictures had a drink but he didn't have a cup sleeve. I thought he might appreciate the cup sleeve since he seemed to be excited about the other Jin decorations. I tried to get his attention to give him one of mine as he passed by my table, but the 'excuse me' that I said (in Korean) came out so quiet because I was super shy. I don't think he heard me and he rounded the corner after that and left with the other men he had been sitting with. Sometimes it would be helpful not to be such an introvert haha. I stayed at the cafe almost until closing time and then I took the subway back to my place.

Hope everyone is doing well,

Emily
