I Made It!

Mom and Dad were super cute and waited for me to make it all the way through security, waving the whole time.

After more than 18 hours I have landed in Incheon, South Korea! The flight here was ridiculously long and boring. I thought there would be wifi on the plane so I didn't download anything ahead of time, but when I got on the plane their wifi wasn't working. I also couldn't sleep at all so it was a very long 18 hours.

However, their entertainment system is much fancier than ones I've seen before. There were lots of movies, documentaries, and TV shows to choose from and there were even games that I could play on the TV. Both flights (I transferred in Beijing) also had several meals included so I didn't need to buy much when I was at the airport.

Meal 1 of 3

My transfer in Beijing went very smoothly and customs there was super fast. I took a quick nap while waiting to board and almost missed the flight... oops! Customs in South Korea went well too and I got my luggage (thank goodness). The luggage carousel had an ad with Black Pink on it and there were several cut-outs of some of my favourite k-drama actors scattered around the airport.

I am currently sitting on a bench in the airport finishing up an online course I need to take this term while I wait for storage lockers to open. I've picked up my SIM card and I will drop off my luggage at 6 am at a locker so I can go and explore the airport more.

Also shout out to Meghan for calling me right after I made it through security in Canada and talking to me for over half an hour to keep me calm about leaving the country all by myself.

Hope everyone is doing well,

Emily
